A Bathroom & Laundry Faucet with a Sprayer

In our homes, a majority of bathroom and laundry sinks are drilled for 4-inch centerset faucets. That is the spacing from the center of the hot water inlet to the center of the cold water inlet. There are a countless design choices on the market for that spacing and even a single hole faucet can be used on a centerset sink, if a deck plate is used to cover the outside water inlet holes. What is not common to find in a centerset faucet with a sprayer hose.

A client reached out to me to see if the faucet in her laundry sink could have the option of a sprayer hose added. Admittedly, I had never looked for this option in a centerset faucet, so I had to do a little searching. As it turns out, there are a few different options out there, but not that many. For her laundry sink, the one selected was manufactured by Delta.

The installation was pretty straightforward, but a center hole had to be drilled in the fiberglass sink. In a bathroom sink designed for centerset faucets, there are three hole. Two outside holes for the water inlets and a center hole for the drain lift rod. Most laundry sinks just have the holes for the water inlets.

Once installed, the faucet operated as designed. Now, after having installed one of theses types of faucets, I could also see it being useful in a bathroom sink.
